ESPN 3D Adds Three NBA Regular-Season Games Including Christmas Day Telecast
Mark Jones and Jon Barry to Call ESPN 3D’s First NBA Telecast Dec. 17
Mark Jones and analyst Jon Barry will call ESPN 3D’s first NBA telecast – the Miami Heat and its trio of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh visiting the New York Knicks and Amare Stoudemire – Friday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m. ET. Jones will be the regular play-by-play voice for NBA games televised on ESPN 3D throughout the season. The telecast will mark the Heat’s first trip to Madison Square Garden this season. The Heat/Knicks game will also be available on ESPN, ESPN3.com, ESPN Mobile TV and ESPN Deportes.

3D Joint Venture of Sony, Discovery Communications and IMAX Continues Expansive Programming Rollout

The 3D joint venture of Sony Corporation, Discovery Communications and IMAX Corporation has added six new titles to its planned network programming slate, including original series and acquisitions, it was announced today by Tom Cosgrove, President and CEO of the joint venture. The programs – produced in native 3D – will join the series, programs and theatricals previously announced by the first 24/7, fully programmed 3D television network in the U.S.
"We continue to move forward aggressively to both create and acquire the most immersive and entertaining 3D programming for television audiences available anywhere," said Cosgrove. "The broad range of series and programs announced today further underscores our ongoing commitment to providing consumers with the highest quality 3D content across a wide variety of genres."

The country, with some major help from Sony, wasn’t just aiming to make Japan the host country for the tournament in 2022, but to actually have countries all over the world host it together, thanks to life-sized holographics, and giant screens that would be placed in stadiums all over the globe
